About Us

Southwest Boston Community Development Corporation was founded in 2001 by residents of the Hyde Park and Roslindale neighborhoods of Boston — they were concerned about rising rents and the need for more thoughtful development in their communities.

We work to build and sustain a thriving, economically and racially diverse community in Hyde Park and Roslindale. We prevent displacement (particularly of low-income and elderly residents), create and preserve affordable housing, strengthen the commercial base of the neighborhoods, ensure access to good transit and green spaces, and develop local leaders whose voices are not otherwise heard.

We work to meet our mission through programs and activities that bring long-time residents and newcomers of all ages and diverse backgrounds together. We believe in equity, sustainability, organizing for positive change, and inclusiveness.
